State-Sponsored Terrorism

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute made national news this week for canceling its "Virtual Jihadi" art exhibit, but the real story is that the exhibit was being paid for by New York State taxpayers. You can make a videogame about suicide bombing the President anywhere in America, but only in New York can you get public funding to do it.

Since the cancellation of the event, the Jihadi exhibit has found a new home at the Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, which has an obviously higher tolerance for material that promotes suicide bombings and killing the American President. Area residents, led by Rensselaer County Legislature Majority Leader Bobby Mirch, will be demonstrating outside before the Monday debut at 6pm.
