Late last week, he had the job. But now we are hearing CB Smith has been boxed out of a job in the Democratic Office in the Rensselaer County Legislature.
Smith has received votes from four out of the six members of the Democrat Minority caucus, according to our sources. (Yes for CB – Fasoldt, Grimm, Harrington and Hammond; No for CB – O'Brien, Zweig) But early this week, CB's one-time ally Tom Wade directed defeated Troy Mayoral candidate Jim Conroy to begin reaching out – well, ordering may be a better word – to let Dem legislators know not to hire CB. Or else.
Along with Wade, Troy Dem Chair Frank LaPosta is heard to have weighed in against CB, along with a couple of Troy Councilman and other local Dem officials. The Dem legislators are heard to be a bit miffed at Wade running over their selection, and we can just imagine how ballistic CB has gone.
