Speaking of the Sweeney race, U.S. Senator John McCain will be in town on May 20 to support Sweeney at a Saratoga area fundraiser. And on the same day, McCain will be at the Brunswick Elks to boost Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno’s re-election bid. McCain is one the most popular Republicans nationally, and his appearance should energize the GOP base.
