Thanks…and thanks again!

Let's start the New Year off right by sending out a big "Thank You" to everyone who visits and participates in the humble little site we call Troypolitics.org. Thanks especially because 2008, our third year of existence, was by far the biggest and busiest year we have had to date.

How busy? Busy enough that our visits to the blog more than quadrupled during 2008. We get thousands, that's right thousands, more visitors on a weekly basis than we did during 2007 and 2006. Our readership is increasing almost as fast as the Democratic tax on diet soda. Or the tax on cable television…or clothes…or mixed drinks…or car insurance…or pencils and paper…or snacks and candy…or, well, you get the picture.

Traffic is busy enough that we've even had a tentative sponsorship offer. But for now, we have decided to keep this an ad-free site, although any wishing to provide counseling services to the error-prone Troy Council Democrats are welcome to contact us through the comments section.

Troy and Rensselaer County politics have always been full contact, and this blog proves the local political battles are a spectator sport. We get visitors from other states, sometimes other countries, different areas of New York State and everywhere in the Capital Region. Who knew Mirch would be a nationally known and loved figure! Thanks to everyone for stopping by and see throughout 2009.

Starting the year off right, the Record's Talespin continues to question the sanity and competence of Troy Council Democrats as they increase spending by hiring their own legal counsel and fail to videotape meetings, breaking their 6,172 campaign promise. Plus, something in the column about GOPers getting appointments via state Democrats.
