Petition Pride

Hearing that Rensselaer County Republicans and supporters put together an unprecedented effort to ensure Roy McDonald got on the ballot. Scrambling in less than two weeks, Repubs and their allies collected nearly 2,000 signatures on various party lines.

Exact numbers will be in later this week, but if the reports are correct, McDonald's campaign is off to a great start. Quite a difference from County Democratic boss Tom Wade's hand-picked candidate for 43rd Senate Brian Premo, with reports that at least one of his rivals for the Democrat nomination have collected a significant number of signatures right in Premo's home county.
