War on War

The failures around the Democratic Congressional majority continue to mount, just as their poll numbers slide. The Pelosi gang came in at under 30 percent favorable earlier in May, and the troubles are seemingly just started for the accomplishment-challenged, promises-broken majority.

Memorial Day, anti-war poster girl Cindy Sheehan announced her “retirement” as a leader of the protest movement. Does she blame Bush? No. Instead, Sheehan lays the reason for her retreat at the feet of … the Democratic Party.

“I was the darling of the so-called left as long as I limited my protests to George Bush and the Republican Party,” wrote Sheehan on a liberal blog. “However, when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the left started labeling me with the same slurs…”

One of the slurs? Sheehan, mother of a son who gave his life in Iraq, notes some liberals called her an “attention whore”. That’s class.
